Problem to Be Solved

Since 1966, Banner Engineering grew to have thousands of sales and support personnel in dozens of offices, looking to support more than 10,000 different hardware products. The amount of effort needed to do that was massive and the company began looking to create new lines of software to make setup easier for customers and allow them visualize their data.

However internally they lacked any design expertise and that became evident in the level of polish in their efforts. This became a an obstacle to sales when compared to the competition. They had multiple applications largely completed but they needed to improve the design to be in-line with industry expectations.

My Role

Bringing over 15 years of expertise in designing and developing UIs for web applications, I approached the Banner Engineering software redesigns with a holistic perspective, drawing on my extensive experience as an interactive creative director for global brands. Viewing the project from a strategic vantage point, I recognized the interconnectedness of branding, user experience, development, and change management within the solution. I orchestrated the development of Banner Engineering brand standards and crafted design requirements essential for the project's foundational elements. Through the creation of comprehensive documentation, working with developers and directly implementing code, we successfully redesigned 5 applications and kicked off two additional product representing a new vanguard of Banner Engineering software.
